Active projectA youth-led graphic novel that turns everyday accountability issues into stories communities can rally around.
African governments pledged in 2018 to make it the continent’s year of anti-corruption, but progress has been slow to show on the ground — Kenya continues to rank poorly on global corruption indexes.
Pathways Policy Institute is working with young people in Nakuru, Nairobi and Mombasa to co-create a graphic novel through a participatory arts-camp process. The novel is designed to build the accountability skills of youth and alumni, giving them a tool to score leaders on the issues that affect their daily lives.
Everyday corruption that commuters and drivers encounter, told through relatable characters and scenes.
How procurement decisions are made and where accountability tends to break down.
The impact of illicit trade on communities and what accountability looks like in response.
